Have you noticed how people light up when they smile? Do you think that you light up like that when you smile. I am sure you do. How Digestion effects our Health and Well Being To have a sense of Well Being and feel healthy we need to have good Digestion. An abundance of enzymes and good bacteria are some of the essential factors to make this happen. Ultimately toxins need to be eliminated in the process instead of being reabsorbed into the body. How can we help our Body to optimize Digestion? To start with, we can take more time chew our food. Digestion starts in the Mouth. Chewing releases enzymes, especially those which help break down Carbohydrates. Apparently without this enzyme the rest of the Click here to Continue Reading

Finding the book “Heal your Body” by Louise Hay about 20 years ago has been a real blessing. A few years later I was told about “Your body is the Barometer of your Soul” by Annette Noontil. Both authors connect our thinking to what is going on in our body. Since our feelings let us know what we have been thinking, we can use all those tools to help ourselves to feel better, emotionally and physically. A couple of weeks ago I had an annoying pain in the back and I used both books and wrote affirmations in my morning Click here to Continue Reading

Play Good for Business and Success

Is the time we play as adults just for fun or waste of time? What happens if we did not get enough play when we were children, did it affect our development? These are the questions Stuart Brown and Christopher Vaughan explore in the book: “Play How it shapes the Brain, Opens the Imagination, and Invigorates the Soul” One of the examples in the book, relating to business, is on page 131 to 132 about how Andrew Grove and Gordon more solved a problem for Intel when Japan came up with a much cheaper memory chip. Living in Cruise mode

Have you ever been driving and then after a few miles realised that you were actually not ‘consciously driving’ but just cruising, feeling in the zone? When I went to visit my friend on a sunny day, driving through New Zealand’s beautiful scenery of multitudes of green bushes, trees and grass and ocean views I had this feeling. It was as if I was one with the car, the road and traffic. I love just cruising on 80/90 km/h and I rather have every other car in front of me so I can go at my own pace. A lot Click here to Continue Reading

Mandalas and Well Being

When I googled Mandalas I found that there are 119 000 images for Mandalas. How often do we spend time nurturing our creativity? Did you like colouring in pictures when you were young? Why do we seem to stop those playful creative activities as we get older? Carl G. Jung found mandalas helpful: ” I realized more and more clearly that the mandala is the center; it is the expression of all life; it is the path of individuation.” The other day I got out “Mandalas for Meditation”by Zoe Frances which includes 80 black and white patterns, and a book Click here to Continue Reading

Time for Self Reflection

“Follow effective action with quiet reflection. From the quiet reflection will come even more effective action.” Peter F. Drucker “By three methods we may learn wisdom: first, by reflection, which is noblest; second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest.” Confucius How much time do you get/take to be by yourself to reflect? Maybe we don’t all need the same amount of time to spend alone to tune in, to reconnect? Do we get/take enough time and what do we do with it when we have it? “Women need real moments of solitude and Click here to Continue Reading

Taking time out for Well Being

In this busy lifestyle of modern civilisation a lot of people don’t seem to find the time to take time out for their well being and to restore positivity. We are always doing the best we can at any given time. We don’t get up in the morning and say “I am going to be deliberately lazy today and sabotage myself.” If we are feeling a lack of energy it is usually a sign that we need to take care of ourselves and re-align. Even if it means doing nothing. Elizabeth Gilbert, Author of “Eat, Pray and Love” found out Click here to Continue Reading

Aging and 10 Products we may be using daily A TV show featuring Dr. Oz brought my attention to 10 products which contribute to aging in a big way. Apart from losing our youthful appearance these products also contribute to diminishing our well being. It seems like most of our body is affected by the use of one or all of these products. Through absorption by either the digestive system, the skin or the respiratory system these commonly used items can (slowly) deteriorate our health. 1. High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) : A cheaper form of sugar and often appears Click here to Continue Reading
