Attitude is important for our Well Being
A few people commented on my last post Solutions for aging that attitude would be the most important.
I agree and I had listed it as the first point for that reason.
What is Attitude?
It is the way we think and our perspective/interpretation in regards to what happens.
What is effected by our attitude?
Here are a few examples:
- well being/health
- whether we age gracefully/or not
- life in general
Do you have some examples?
So, our Attitude is what we are thinking.
As I mentioned in Positive Thinking we think around 60 000 thoughts a day.
Yes you read right: sixty thousand thought a day.
The good news is:
We don’t have to control or monitor all of those thoughts, not even just some of them.
Our feelings let us know how we are doing.
Feeling good = constructive thoughts
Feeling not so good or even bad = non beneficial thoughts.
You may wonder why I didn’t call them destructive thoughts.
Here is some more good news:
There is a time delay.
So, you have time to find slightly better feeling thoughts before they become “destructive”.
Each slightly better feeling thought will give you access to more
better feeling thoughts therefore it becomes easier to turn those thoughts around.
As a shampoo add with Rachel Hunter (New Zealand actress who was married to Rod Stewart)
said in a shampoo add: “It won’t happen overnight, but it will happen!”
Hang on; correction here:
The slightly better feeling will happen straight away,
but it might be so subtle that you won’t notice it.
If you continue it will become more noticeable and then you may even notice the evidence in your life.
The better is feels the better it gets and
the better it gets and the better it feels, and so on – you get the picture?!
Recipe for Joy (words: Abraham-Hicks music: What is Life George Harrison)
A couple of days ago I was reminded of the importance of dedicating an hour a day to reprogram my mind by John Assaraf in his free 90 min webinar.
I love his book ‘The Answer’ in which John and his co-author Murray Smith also give guidelines for building your business.
Reprogramming our internal software – undoing that conditioning we have taken on board -takes repetition;
just like the ‘not so beneficial’ words from well meaning caregivers were repeated to us over and over on a daily basis.
Affirmations, reading uplifting books, vision boards, visualization and meditation are great tools to use to fine tune our attitude.
