Anti-oxidants

Anti-oxidants are an important part in keeping healthy.

Free radicals are molecules with an unpaired atoms, which means that they are unbalanced and therefore can cause imbalance in the body.

Anti-oxidants  ‘donate’ an atom to the unbalanced molecule (free radical), but then they become a free radical themselves.

WhenVitamin E becomes a free radical it becomes a problem because it is fat soluble and can’t get out of the system.

Therefore it needs other water soluble anti-oxidants like Vitam C, which regenerates Vitamin E into a anti-oxidant and the Vitamin C can get out of the system.

Vitamin C comes in different forms:

Ascorbic Acid     – can be taxing on the Kidneys

Calcium Ascorbate  – less taxing  on kidneys

A Combination of  Ascorbates and  bioflavonoid complex are easier to absorb.

A comprehensive combination of Ascorbates with bioflavonoid complex – slow release and fully absorbable.

Some of the Neurotransmitter synthesis relies on Vitamin C and therefore it is important for the regulation of moods.

  1. I need to get better about taking vitamins and eating foods that are full of antioxidants. I have been so bad about my diet lately and don’t like the way I feel. :*(

  2. Hi Yorinda! Great post. This is really interesting. I wanted to ask you. You are referring to these 2 Vitamins in general. Should I consume them through vegetable or wholefood based Vitamin pills?

  3. Hi Yorinda, very good post and I learn new idea from your blog. We all should pay lots of attention to protect our cell. Oxidized cells are the cause of aging and degeration and they are even the main cause of forming tumour and cancer cells. Therefore, don’t live without anti-oxidant to shield ourselves in our body.
